Ivey Jacops, the founder of SMART Real Estate, didn't set out for a career in the real estate industry. In fact, her journey, like many successful people, has been a winding path.   1. Ivey Jacops never set out to have a career in the real estate industry. Ivey was on track to practice medicine as a pre-med major in college. A natural with people and a lover of science, it felt like the right fit. However, the sacrifice a career in medicine requires was daunting. She shifted her vision to receive her MBA and quickly launched into a career in corporate healthcare through a growing hospice care conglomerate. 

  2. Mom is her favorite title. Five years into marrying her high school sweetheart, Ivey and her husband welcomed their son Miles. She decided to step back from her job in corporate healthcare for more time with him. After staying home with her son for a couple of years, the Jacops family moved to Greenville, SC and Ivey began to envision a new chapter of her career.

  3. Ivey Jacops wasn’t your average rookie Realtor. After getting her license and choosing a firm, Ivey was ready to go. Unlike many people who set out for a career in real estate, Ivey was armed with a detailed plan. She had a brand, an LLC, and a business plan. With her tenacity to learn, she jumped right in.

  4. “Do Good” is Ivey’s mantra. Core to Ivey’s approach is the motivation to do a good job for her clients. Though it sounds simple, this concept can be overlooked. Ultimately, she believes, it doesn’t matter what you do to grow your business if you aren’t doing a good job for people. 

  5. She has an extensive real estate coaching background. During her years in real estate sales, Ivey expressed a vision for a new agent training program to the leadership at her firm, showcasing both her talent and unique systems and passions. Soon, she joined the broker team as a trainer for new to the business agents, helping teach the systems she used to help her turn a profit.
