How Coaching Helped a Top Producing Real Estate Agent in Greenville, SC have more time for her family and grow her real estate business.

We first began our coaching journey when I was her broker at a large firm in Greenville, SC in 2021. She was already an established agent in the area having closed an impressive $15M and selling over 50 units in 2020. On the surface, her business was booming. She was in the top 50 agents in the local market. She was successful. What was missing? Time. She woke up and hustled all day long not leaving much time to rest, spend time with her family, or vacation.

At that point, she wasn't really interested in growing, she was nearing burn out and wanted help.

Our plan of attack was simple. Three simple things to regain control of her schedule:

1. Taking back control of her schedule with client service processes that allowed her to establish a more routine schedule. We made a few minor changes in her client processes from when and how she does initial consultations, to when her listings go live, all the way to the deadlines she puts in a contract. The accumulation of these swaps allowed her to take back control of her schedule.

2. Maintaining control of her schedule. This is my favorite thing to coach. When an agent is new, they have time and get into the habit of overly accommodating the schedules of their clients assuming the client wouldn’t be available at the times they are.  We made a simple swap in how she responds to requests for meetings with clients. Instead of saying “what time are you available?” and rearranging her entire schedule accordingly, we changed her response to be “I am available at the following times, which works best for you?” This still gave options to her clients, but she was able to maintain control of her schedule.

3. Saying good-bye to that 9-5 and leaning into a morning routine. That 9-5 work-day is so ingrained in our minds, that it’s hard for real estate agents and other entrepreneurs to break-up with that mindset and recognize they can still put in a full day’s work in 2-3 hour increments. She was getting up and going to the office every morning, then showing or consulting well into the evening hours. Now she stays in pajamas, knocks out admin and marketing tasks from her couch or bed while drinking coffee and gets so much accomplished before her kids are out the door for school.

The results?

That year, she took a vacation. That year, she stopped working 7 days a week. That year, she started turning her phone off at 7pm. That year, she grew her real estate business by 20%. We weren’t even focused on growth, but with that extra time, she was able to focus more on growing her real estate business.

We've continued our coaching journey adding incremental investments along the way to maintain the level of time she has available to enjoy with her family while continuing her pace of growth.

Today, she is on track to close over $40 million. In just three years, she has put in the work to more than double her real estate business in a sustainable way that put the joy back in her career and gave her more time with what matters most to her.
